Trafalgar’s Do Something Club recently led an Advisor activity, as part of an Earth Day initiative, to create ‘The Sustainabilitree’. The Sustainabilitree is a compilation of the long-term environmental goals of Trafalgar students in Grades 4 to 12. Each part of the tree contains a different hand-drawn image of a sustainable action that students pledge to practice in their daily lives.
The Do Something Club hopes that this installation will remind the school community that environmental action is not a one day responsibility but an ongoing commitment to our Earth.
In addition to the Do Something Club’s initiatives, throughout Earth Week there was signage throughout the Castle with energy saving and sustainability reminders. Trafalgar turned off the lights over the lunch hour on April 21 and enjoyed an Earth Day themed lunch from the Aramark kitchen.
