LEADERSHIP

Great leaders don’t exist by chance. They’re created.
They have role models and are given opportunities to challenge themselves. They also have a support network for feedback, development and encouragement. Life at Trafalgar Castle School is intentionally designed to expose girls to leadership opportunities and teach the skills needed to guide and inspire others. That’s how we’ve been creating leaders since 1874.
“Being a Prefect has given me the opportunity to have a forward-facing role within the community. It has taught me how to interact with others and present myself as a leader. I’ve also become a better leader by working wihin a team. Teamwork is a really important aspect of both leadership and being a Prefect and I’m grateful to my fellow Prefects for helping me to grow as a person!.”
Maya L., Senior School Student

Not all leaders are alike, and not every girl is the same kind of leader.
Some have the most to offer one-on-one with other students; others thrive in a full school setting, leading House activities or theme days. Each Trafalgar girl can find and test her own voice within a school culture that encourages personal responsibility, risk taking and individual growth.

Profile of our Student Leaders
Our student leaders are role models and mentors to fellow students whose values, ideas, words and actions manifest in all aspect of their lives.
In addition to being open-minded, courageous and empathetic, they demonstrate effective influence across the school community through measurable action.
We designed a unique leadership profile to help each girl understand and embody what it means to be a leader.
