Trafalgar Castle School is extremely thankful to Nicole Fulcher, Desjardins Agent, for her recent generous donation in support of the school’s Robotics program. This contribution had an immediate and meaningful impact, directly supporting the school’s MATE Robotics team, Where’s Waldo, as they prepared for the MATE ROV Competition in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
With Nicole’s support, the team was able to purchase four essential thrusters (motors) for their underwater robot, a critical component that enables the robot to move and maneuver inwater during competition missions. These missions challenge students from around the world to solve real-world problems using science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills. In true innovative spirit, the students also used the school’s 3D printers to design and create protective covers for the thrusters, showcasing both creativity and technical expertise.
“I believe in STEM education for women and encourage students to not take the traditional route in their lives,” said Nicole Fulcher. Her passion for empowering young women and supporting non-traditional learning paths is a driving force behind her contribution.
Thank you, Nicole, for helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists, and creators at Trafalgar Castle School.
